Chicken sticks
Prepare two bowls, fill one with corn flour and the other with an egg slightly beaten. Pour salt on the chicken meat, and start slicing with a knife into pieces, to obtain the chicken fingers. Dip every chicken finger first in the egg, and then in the corn flour. Place the chicken fingers on a tray and gently place them insider the air fryer. Cook at 180°C for approx 12 minutes, until crispy. Suggestion: before cooking, you can add a little olive oil; it is advisable to cook the chicken fingers inside a pan, placing it into the air fryer.
Swordfish meat balls
Place the swordfish pulp in a blender, add a potato (boiled and smashed), an egg, a bit of parmesan cheese, along with salt and pepper, and blend everything together, making sure that all the ingredients are well mixed together. Add some fresh thyme and milk little by little, then add bread crumbs as needed, to obtain a smooth, compact mixture that can be worked by hands. At this point, take small chunks of the mixture and roll them to create the meat balls, and place them inside the basket of the air fryer, after spraying some olive or seeds oil to avoid sticking. Cook for about 20 minutes at 200°C
Spring rolls
Slice into very thin stripes two carrots, one zucchini and one onion, stir-fry them for about 5 minutes with a little oil, adding soya sauce during cooking. Roll out a roll of phyllo dough and make four rectangles. At the center of each rectangle, place the stir-fried vegetables and close the rolls thoroughly. Brush the rolls with a spoonful of oil and place then on the air fryer grid; cook them at 200°C for about 10 minutes
Scamorza cheese roulades with Speck and walnuts
First coarsely chop the walnuts, then cover the Scamorza cheese slices on both sides with bread crumbs. Wrap each slice of cheese with one or two slices of Speck and close thoroughly making sure to cover all the cheese. Place the roulades inside the basket of the air fryer; cook them for about 10 minutes.
Frozen french fries
Take the French fries out of the freezer about 20 minutes before cooking. Before cooking them, dry them thoroughly with blotting paper, to eliminate any ice residue.
For more crispy fries, brush them with a spoonful of oil.
Pre-heat the air fryer at 200° C for about 5-6 minutes. Pour the fries inside the basket and cook them for 12-15 minuted or until needed. Take the basket out and shake it during cooking to ensure that fries are well cooked.
If needed, add salt before serving
Donna Rosina’s prawns
For this recipe you can use fresh or frozen prawns. Frozen prawns need to be thawed and dried thoroughly with blotting paper before preparation.
Remove heads and shells, place the prawns in a bowl and season with lemon juice, olive oil, smashed garlic clove and salt. Add hot pepper for a spicier flavor.
With the help of a strainer, drain the excess marinade, and move the prawns on a baking tray covered with greaseproof paper.
Pour wheat flour in a bowl, and dip the prawns so that they will not stick to each other during cooking.
Pre-heat the air fryer at 200°C for 5-6 minutes. Place the prawns inside the air fryer basket for 20 minutes until they become golden brown.
Take the basket out and shake it during cooking to ensure all the prawns are well cooked.
If needed, sprinkle some fresh parsley on the prawns before serving.
Steakhouse style fries
Wash and peel potatoe. Cut them into sticks about 1 cm thick. Leave them in cold water for at least half an hour. This will help remove starch from potatoes, and make them soft on the inside, and crispy on the outside.
Drain and dry them thoroughly with blotting paper.
Season the potatoes with 2/3 tbsp of olive oils, salt and rosemary.
Pre-heat the air fryer at 180°C for about 5-6 minutes. Pour the potatoes inside the basket of the hair fryer for 18-25 minutes or until cooked. Take the basket out and shake it during cooking to ensure all the potatoes are well cooked.
Sweet paprika chicken legs
In a bowl, put bread crumbs, salt, sweet paprika and rosemary.
Mix all the ingredients well, then brush the chicken legs with a spoonful of olive oil.
Dip the chicken legs in the bread and spices mixture.
Pre-heat the air fryer at 180°C for 8 minutes, cook at 200°C for 15 minutes and then at 170°C for 10 minutes.
You can serve the chicken legs with garlic mayonnaise or tzatziki sauce
Zucchini chips
Wash and prepare the zucchini, then cut them into 4-5 mm thick slices. In a bowl, mix bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, finely chopped parsley and basil, minced garlic, salt and pepper and a bit of olive oil. Dip the zucchini in the bread crumbs, gently mix them until entirely covered. Place the zucchini slices on a greaseproof paper sheet, and spray them with a bit of oil.
Pre-heat the air fryer at 200°C for 3 minutes, then place the zucchini with the greaseproof paper sheet inside the basket of the air fryer, and cook for 6-7 minutes until the chips are golden brown; turn the chips upside down halfway through cooking.
Squid fry
Clean the squids thoroughly. Move them in a strainer to drain them well. Cut the into rings or stripes and move them on a blotting paper sheet, in order to dry them well. After setting the air fryer at 200°C, place the squids in a bowl and season them with oil.
Dip them in bread crumbs 8or flour) and place them in the basket of the air fryer. Cook for about 15 minutes. For best results, stir the squids after 10 minutes through cooking.
After cooking is done, place the squids on a plate, and add salt before serving.
